Alpine has launched the final version of its current A110, but an electric successor to the mid-engine sports car is planned.

The A110 R Ultime is a follow up to the A110 R that debuted two years ago. The biggest upgrade is the boosted turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 345 hp (257 kW / 350 PS) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque. This represents an increase of 48 hp (37 kW / 50 PS) and 80 Nm (59 lb-ft) compared to the A110 R.

Alpine has developed a hydrogen-fueled V-6 engine that may end up powering a race car running in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Alpine, Renault 's performance division, has revealed the Alpenglow Hy6 supercar concept at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. The car packs a hydrogen-powered V6 engine, a major evolution from its predecessor, the Alpenglow Hy4. This radical design fits Alpine's philosophy that combustion engines can be saved by using hydrogen as fuel.

Renault’s racy sidekick Alpine has shown the potential for hydrogen power in motorsports with an even more potent version of its Alpenglow concept. First revealed two years ago the Alpenglow has evolved significantly from both a design and engineering perspective.
