Apple reportedly halts production of its $3,500 Vision Pro headset, casting doubt on the future of the mixed-reality device.

According to reports the Apple Vision Pro did not sell well amd now the tech giant is sitting on a stockpile of the spatial computing device.

This week, a report has come out that suggests the $3,500 Apple Vision Pro has discontinued production due to reduced demand and overpricing.

With 2024 drawing to a close, Apple might have concluded the production run of the Apple Vision Pro spatial computer.

Though Apple's expensive headset was been praised for its cutting-edge technology, the device is expensive and hasn't yet been widely embraced at either home or work.

Apple has reportedly ended production of its Apple Vision Pro headset due to low demand and a high amount of unsold stock. Apple ’s $3,500 mixed reality headset launched in the US in February 2024 and in other regions throughout the rest of last year.

MacRumors also claims that Apple told Luxshare Precision Co. Ltd., the Chinese company that assembles the headset, that it would need to wind down production in November. The company is said to have been making around 1,000 Vision Pro headsets per day as of October, half of what was being produced at the peak of production.

It is estimated that there are currently enough components to make 500,000 to 600,000 Apple Vision Pro headsets.
