Teen surfer survives shark attack in Brevard County: 'Could have been so much worse'
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A teenager is recovering after a shark attack in Brevard County. Surfer Teddy Wittemann, 16, was released from the hospital after a close call last Friday. He said he went to grab his surfboard in the sea when a shark grabbed his arm. Thankfully, the teen returned to shore and is recovering from the shark attack.

The teen said it all happened in a matter of seconds. The shark, estimated to be between 5 and 6 feet long, took a nice size chunk out of his upper left arm. Teddy said he believes the shark realized it got a human rather than a fish, and thankfully swam off after a taste. That’s when the teen went into survival mode.
