A candlelight vigil was held on Thursday night as friends family and community members gathered to remember the deaths of four Pepperdine University students who were struck and killed by a speeding driver while walking along Pacific Coast Highway in October 2023.

Mount Juliet neighbors are coming together to remember the life of 16-year-old Kyler Gatica, whose life was tragically cut short in a car accident. Kyler passed away in a car crash while returning from a family beach trip during fall break.

Thursday marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic deaths of four Pepperdine students fatally struck on Pacific Coast Highway as they strolled to an event, and Friday the city of Malibu will host a news conference to discuss initiatives implemented over the past year to improve safety on PCH.
