The San Diego Unified School District Monday continued investigating the extent of a data breach by a third-party software company impacting students in the district. The data breach was announced last week by PowerSchool,

A worldwide cyber security breach is impacting several local school districts. PowerSchool is a cloud-based software provider that allows parents to track students’ grades, schedules, assignments and absences through an app.

The districts are customers of PowerSchool, a cloud-based software company, which says it experienced a cybersecurity incident on Dec. 28.
