The UK has introduced a ban on pigs, sheep and cattle imports from Germany after a case of foot-and-mouth disease was confirmed in the country. The government said on Tuesday it will no longer approve health certificates for animals,

German authorities said on Tuesday they had found no new cases of the livestock illness foot-and-mouth disease following intensive testing around the area where the first case was confirmed last week.

Germany has seen an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in water buffalos, marking the first cases in the EU since 2011.
