RTX Corporation, the defense contractor formerly known as Raytheon, has agreed to pay more than $950 million to resolve allegations that it defrauded the government and paid bribes to secure business

The settlement resolves a series of federal probes, including one that was opened after a lawsuit in California accused the defense contractor of funneling $1.9 million in bribes to a brother of Qatar’s emir.

RTX agreed on Wednesday to pay about $950 million to resolve federal charges it defrauded the U.S. Department of Defense into overpaying for defense systems and bribed an official in Qatar to secure business from the Middle East country's air force.
