Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur has opened up about what makes Lewis Hamilton stand out among the Formula 1 grid, emphasizing that the seven-time world champion operates like no other driver in the sport.

Binotto, who has since taken the reins at Sauber ahead of its transition to the Audi works team, doesn’t see the same appeal, telling Italy’s Corriere della Sera that bringing Hamilton into the team risks disempowering Leclerc as Ferrari’s long-term leader.

In February, the Scuderia announced the bombshell signing of the seven-time world champion, who signed a two-year contract worth approximately $65m-a-season.
