Meta is enticing TikTok creators with up to $5,000 as a way to "jumpstart" growth on Instagram and Facebook.

According to a report from The Information, Instagram has been actively courting creators with followings in the millions, particularly those who launched their careers on TikTok. On offer are monthly cash incentives ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 if they prioritize posting to Reels.

Meta is offering creators up to $5,000 in bonuses to switch to Facebook and Instagram. The cash incentive depends on the size of their social media footprint and comes days after TikTok went dark in the U.

Meta hasn't mentioned TikTok by name, but its new "Breakthrough bonus programme" is trying to appeal to creators using its competitors' platforms.

In a statement to The Verge, Meta spokesperson Paige Cohen confirmed that the company has launched a Breakthrough Bonus program that lets TikTok creators earn up to $5,000 over three months for posting Reels to Facebook and Instagram.

Meta's attempt to lure creators to its platforms comes as questions remain over the future of its main rival in the US.
