While Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet carried a report of an alleged rape had been reported to the police, it did not make any mention of the accused. Expressen however, went a step further and named 25-year-old Mbappe as the suspect in the investigation.

Kylian Mbappe has vehemently denied the allegations. Mbappe took to social media to refute the accusations, calling them "fake news." However, PSG has lashed out at their former striker for dragging them into the fiasco.

France manager Didier Deschamps has commented on a report claiming Kylian Mbappe is being investigated for rape in Sweden – an allegation the player has branded as "fake news". A newspaper in Sweden on Monday claimed that the Real Madrid and France forward is being investigated for rape following a visit to Stockholm.
