The Wild Robot is based on Peter Brown’s 2016 book by the same name, which is part of a series of three books. The second book is titled The Wild Robot Escapes. According to Brown’s website, the sequel finds Roz exploring a futuristic world with “cities and humans and other robots” while navigating her memories of her life on the island.

So far, The Wild Robot has enjoyed positive reviews from critics, as well as a decent run at the box office, earning over $149.3 million globally so far. But nearly every 2024 Universal titles has been pushed to “premium” video-on-demand after just over two weeks in theaters, and The Wild Robot is no exception.
