RALEIGH, N.C. — Seth Jarvis scored with 18 seconds remaining to lift the Hurricanes to a 3-2 victory over the Bruins Thursday night at Lenovo Center. Jarvis pounced on a Nikita Zadorov clearing attempt as the Bruins defenseman’s stick shattered right in front of Joonas Korpisalo.

Carolina regained the lead early in the second period. After Pyotr Kochetkov stoned Pastrnak on a breakaway, Brent Burns made it 2-1 on a good bounce for him when a bad angle shot went off Parker Wotherspoon’s stick and past Korpisalo.

It’s officially NHL Trade Deadline week, as the deadline is Friday, March 7, when teams can make their last attempts to tweak their rosters. There are 44 days left in the 2024-25 regular season before the start of the 2025 NHL Playoffs.

Even though the trade was expected, removing a player instead of adding one sent a ripple through the Bruins room. It showed on the ice.
