The N.C. Forest Service is warning North Carolinians to be prepared for wildfires and take the necessary steps to help prevent any natural disasters.

There are reports of several brush fires breaking out around Forsyth County near Walkertown as a result of dry and warm winds. A Wind Advisory continues west of the Piedmont Triad until 6 p.m. Highs may top out near 70 degrees in Winston-Salem and Greensboro today.

The National Weather Service said there is a 15-25% chance of thunderstorms across the region, which could bring periods of heavy rainfall that could overwhelm the burn-scar areas.
