The Delhi Police has apprehended and deported a Bangladeshi woman staying here illegally, an official said on Thursday. Acting on the Delhi LG Secretariat's orders, police on December 11 launched a drive for the identification of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing in the national capital.

In a major breakthrough, the police also busted a gang responsible for providing Aadhar cards and other government identification cards to Bangladeshi nationals based on fake documents.

The Bangladeshi migrant admitted to having entered India on tourist visas and staying in Delhi even after the terms expired.

A Bangladeshi national who was illegally residing in the national capital was apprehended and deported to Bangladesh following a verification drive launched by the staff of the Vasant Kunj South Police Station in the South West District.

The Delhi Police arrested three Bangladeshi nationals, including a mother-son duo, during their verification drive across the city aimed at identifying and deporting illegal immigrants, said officers.
