Firefighters stopped the progress of the 40-acre fire, which broke out late Wednesday in the Sepulveda Pass, officials said.

A brush fire broke out on the east side of the Sepulveda Pass near Bel-Air at about 11 p.m. Wednesday night. The blaze spread to 20 acres and prompted an evacuation warning before firefighters got the upper hand on it.

A fire was burning Thursday morning in Bel-Air on the eastern side of the 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass. The fire was burning uphill, toward Sepulveda Fire Road. At around 11:15 p.m., winds in the area were around 8 to 15 mph,

Moraga Bel Air Vineyards, owned by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, was understood to be among the properties that received evacuation warnings that were later lifted due to the fire near the Getty Center.
