Ball missed the last two NBA seasons as he hasn't played since Jan. 14, 2022 when he suffered a knee injury that's caused him to undergo multiple surgeries. This will be Ball's first NBA appearance in 1,006 days. It was reported back in June that Ball was expected to return in 2025, so the timeline moved quicker than anticipated.

Lonzo Ball hasn't played NBA basketball in more than two seasons, but now he may be just days away from making his long-awaited return.  According to Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic, the Chicago Bulls are planning to have Ball return this week,

Ball then signed a four-year, $80 million contract in a sign-and-trade which landed him with the Chicago Bulls. He continued his strong play, teaming up with DeMar DeRozan, Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic to lead the Bulls to the top seed in the Eastern Conference until Ball went down with an injury.

After missing the past two seasons with a serious knee injury, Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball is expected to return on Wednesday, ESPN reported Monday.

Barring any setbacks or additional soreness, the Bulls and Ball expect Ball to appear in Chicago's final two preseason contests.
