With another cold October night on tap, the National Weather Service has upgraded a freeze watch to freeze warnings in several New Jersey counties. Forecasters say temperatures will likely drop into the upper 20s to low 30s in some areas of the state overnight Wednesday into early Thursday,

Don’t say we didn’t warn you. The weather is a shock to the system for many across the tri-state area Wednesday morning, with temperatures feeling more like winter. And the fall chill isn’t going away anytime soon.

The cold and cozy nights are here to stay, with temps expected to dip into the 30s across parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania Wednesday night, Oct. 16, but with summer-like temps expected over the weekend,

"Subfreezing temperatures as low as 24 [degrees Fahrenheit] expected" in some areas of Minnesota and North Dakota, the NWS said.

Another cold night is expected causing a freeze warning to be issued across Pennsylvania. The average lows for this time of year are in the lower 40s however temperatures for Wednesday night will fall to the low and mid 30s.
