Multiple fishermen fall through Lake Erie ice; officials issue warning
The U.S. Coast Guard and local firefighters are warning residents after multiple fishermen fell through the ice on Lake Erie on Thursday.
Lake effect snow warning issued for Southern Erie until Friday morning
On Thursday at 7:50 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a lake effect snow warning in effect until Friday at 10 a.m. for Southern Erie.

Lake Erie ice-coverage continues to increase and it's now at 91 percent. Lake Erie has the highest ice-coverage since January 2022. Still enough open water for some lake effect snow.
Lake Erie ice shift threatens shipping lanes
The National Weather Service has issued a marine weather statement for most of the U.S. side of Lake Erie stating that the ice shift will likely occur throughout the day. The NWS is mainly concerned about ice breaking off from the western basin. However, they are urging people to stay off the ice today and tonight.
Update: Be prepared for lake effect snow in Northern Erie and Southern Erie Monday night
The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 9:02 p.m. on Monday for lake effect snow until 10:30 p.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie.
