Like many college football bastions, Nebraska’s annual spring intrasquad game had evolved into a hallowed custom.

AUSTIN — Texas announced Thursday that it will not hold a spring football game for the first time in head coach Steve Sarkisian’s four-year Longhorn tenure. Sarkisian made the announcement on a football podcast and cited the wear and tear of two consecutive long seasons as the reason for the cancellation.

According to the College Sports Network the Texas A&M Aggies have two of the best returning players in college football this upcoming season.
