Overnight, our attention shifts from the potential icy spots to the dangerous cold. Most of the area is under an Extreme Cold Warning through 9 a.m. Thursday. This means wind chills could be as cold as ten below zero.

Temperatures will be below freezing and in the teens at time in Dallas-Fort Worth due to an arctic blast of cold air.

Northeasterly winds will persist into Wednesday as high pressure moves in and remains in place. Cold temperatures will continue into Wednesday as well with widespread highs only in the 20s. Winds will diminish Wednesday evening and thus wind chill values should not be as bad as tonight but still falling below zero for many.
