Gov. Maura Healey's announcement comes as Republicans start lining opposition to the Arlington Democrat in 2026.

No other candidate has formally announced a plan to run for governor, though several Republicans may enter the race.

During a radio interview today, the governor said she intends to run for a second term. Before being elected governor in 2022, Healey served two terms as Massachusetts attorney general.
