Tim Allen recently launched his third starring sitcom, Shifting Gears, which has already become a smash hit in the ratings. But at 71, Allen realizes that his time on network television may be coming to an end.

Tim Allen is in his happy place. He's leaving the Disney lot in Burbank, California, after another day of shooting his new hit ABC sitcom, "Shifting Gears" (Wednesdays, 8 EST/PST and streaming the next day on Hulu), and hopping into his 1,000-horse power Tesla Plaid. (Cue that signature Neanderthal grunt.)

In addition to Allen and Dennings, 38, Shifting Gears also stars Seann William Scott, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins and Barrett Margolis. Jenna Elfman, meanwhile, has been cast in a recurring role as spirited choreographer Eve Drake, who owns a dance studio across from the classic car restoration shop run by Allen’s character.

Tim Allen’s new sitcom, SHIFTING GEARS, has already made milestones at the No. 1 new comedy on TV — with only four episodes so far.

As the man himself has said, Tim Allen is the Tom Brady of sitcoms. His return for "Shifting Gears," which is airing on the 2025 TV schedule, further proves that fact, as he’s about to embark on his third round of family-centered laughs and snark.
