The Trump administration on Thursday sued the city of Chicago and state of Illinois for allegedly interfering with immigration enforcement.
The lawsuit comes as Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson is expected to testify before the House Oversight Committee next month.
The Department of Justice is suing Chicago, the state of Illinois and Cook County over sanctuary city policies.
