An unmarked Chicago police squad car was damaged after officers were targeted in a shooting in Gage Park Sunday night.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- An investigation was underway, after Chicago police officers fired shots in the Uptown neighborhood on Sunday night. The scene unfolded just after 7 p.m. in the 300 block of West Division Street, in a neighborhood popular for its restaurants and bars. On Sunday night, it was flooded with a massive police presence.

A person of interest was in custody late Sunday after a Chicago police officer fired at a vehicle attempting to flee a traffic stop, police said.

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability said it is investigating a shooting that involved Chicago police Sunday evening near West Division Street and North Wells Street.

A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday morning on the city's South Side. The shooting happened just before 5:30 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Greenwood Avenue. Chicago police said the victim was shot multiple times by unknown people.
