Feb 27, 2015 · I see this icon regularly as well as what looks like a progress bar icon. I assume this latter icon indicates the uploading of the file or the changes made to it. That's obvoius. But it's not obvious (to me anyway) what the cloud icon means and I haven't been able to find out anywhere. Thanks.

Sep 11, 2018 · If the icon appears on a song, it means that the song is not downloaded. If the icon appears in the top right, it means that iTunes is currently syncing with your iCloud Music Library, or has failed to sync. - Fin

Nov 8, 2022 · When clicking on the icon, always the same window appears (2), indicating that files are being uploaded. but the upload bar is always full, meaning the upload finished. however, this indication never changes. When going into the actual files (3), one can see that some show this cloud with exclamation point icon. THANKS for helping further.

Oct 3, 2018 · Select the app you want to offload back to iTunes in the Cloud, and tap on the App name. That will take you to a screen that has the option to "Offload App". You will get a message that it will remove the app from your device (which it does), but the icon will remain on your Home screen and will now have the little cloud icon next to it.

Jun 27, 2022 · The official Apple iCloud information says that seeing a cloud icon means that the file is not downloaded locally (but yet when I see the cloud icon it says 'Downloaded' beside it!), while the Apple site also seems to suggest that not seeing any cloud icon would indicate that the file has not yet been downloaded.
