Nov 1, 2021 · I recently updated to Windows 11. I have a LG 34 inch ultrawide monitor (21:9 aspect ratio, 2560x1080 resolution). Windows 11 selects the generic Pnp monitor driver, which has a max 1920x1080 resolution, so the screen is fuzzy and stretched out - really unusable.

Jan 6, 2022 · Many FPS Games being released today and likely going forward are implementing FOV Sliders Native'ly. As such any otherwise unfair advantage that an Ultrawide monitor could offer, could EASILY be countered by giving the game the ability to detect the Console is outputting 21:9 and artificially capping the FOV players can select in game.

Jul 17, 2021 · Yes, to accommodate two full windows displaying like they would in Dual Monitors, it requires an extra-wide monitor. But you can achieve the same thing with dual monitors using your existing 32". When I've considered going extra wide, I've always come back to Dual Monitors being more practical.

Feb 2, 2021 · The aspect ratio of a 3,840 x 2,160 monitor is 16:9, while the aspect ratio of a 2,560 (which is what I think you mean) x 1,080 monitor is 21:9. That explains the stretching. 2,850 x 1,080 is something of an oddball resolution. 2,560 x 1,080 is more prevalent (because it corresponds more closely to 21:9 which is a common resolution for ultrawides.)

Mar 15, 2024 · The Xbox Series X does not support ultrawide and you'd be buying a monitor that can do 240Hz, but the Xbox can only do half that. While an ultrawide will work, it will look horrible. Since Xbox doesn't support ultra wide resolutions, the max resolution will be either squished into the middle of the display or horribly stretched.

Before the current and previous Windows 10 updates (the last one was 1909), I was able to obtain the correct resolution. However, when I updated Window 10 each time, the best resolution I could pick is 1920x1080 which is horrible.
